It's a nice touch to incorporate the 'V' into the design of the scissor. I'm not sure about the gradient, it makes the scanning a bit weak, the colour is perhaps not bold enough. Not sure if reversing the gradient would help or just a bold single colour.
It's all pretty subjective though, so take my advice with a pinch of salt by all means.

hi,
I agree with thehermit that scissors with that black not sure well that really works.. i have been playing around with it see what other idea come up with... and these are just randome thoughts...
1. have the lavender more saturated..
2. instead of the black maybe replace it with a more saturated base color...
3. maybe replace the lavender on the V with a red...or some other nice pastel color..
4. the background--it not very contrasty, that white i be tempted to replace that with a darker color to enphsize the words ... for example if it was black background then the words would grab a person's eyes....
those are just some ramdom ideas... which everyonehas a opinion about.. smiling

Thanks for your comments, my intention on the gradient was to make it clear it was a V, but I now see it doesn't work well. In response to the background she wanted it plain white so she could just print cheaply onto white card and not spend lot on ink. Again thanks for your feedback I'll make adjustments before I send it on to her
(sorry if I've missed any replies, on my mobile and my Internet isn't great)

I presume you have it in hand but it should have no background so that it can 'float' for a variety of uses and backgrounds/paper.
I realise that you have probably made it a white background for the web and have the above sorted

Yea the idea was to have her contact details, etc on the right hand side sort of fitted into the gap where the scissor handles are and under the text, I don't know if this would look crowded or something but if you have an opinion on that, please feel free to express! x

Skyhawk That's such an improvement, the lady asked for a hint of the purple/lavender colour to be involved so I think I'll try and recreate something more along the lines of your design and incorporate the lavender in the swirly pattern some how, again thanks a lot!
