Well, I just upgraded to windows 7 so treated myself to photoshop 6, after using 2 for quite some time.
How on earth do I get my pix off the card in the card reader?

Welcome to the forum. As this is not really a Photoshop question but a question about your brand of card reader, we may need some more info as to your problems.

my life has been such that I have nearly drowned in lemonade!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the card reader just has secure digital on it and I use an adaptor for the micro card. I t works fine for 2 and 3, but on 6 I cant find the instruction to use it. On the others it says 'get photos' then I just click on the device and they all appear.
If I could use 2 on windows 7 I would be in a bowl of cherries........

Don't know Photoshop 6, but you might need to import photos using Bridge (which comes with later versions of photoshop). not Photoshop. For me it's:
file> get photos from Camera (in Bridge)
then select device/card from drop down box. Of course, your card has to be connected to the computer...

The plot thickens. on adobe 6 the only instruction that comes up under import is PDF format.
I am just going to investigate bridge [how I loved my photoshop 2]
