|
|
After toying in my sparetime to learn how to create some planetary artwork, this is my second creation. I had fun making it, and had alot of help getting past my infant days in PS.
I would appreciate any feedback on how to improve images like this (not necessarily this one, but this one is free game as well). The planets were made with textures of a greyish dirt (for the moon) and of clear blue water over coral (for the planet). The 3 stars were done with lens flares. If possible, i would specifically like to hear how i can improve my stars and/or planet shadows and atmospheres which were done with inner glows and shadows.
Im going to continue to figure out how to make better planets, and hopefully make some with rings. |

maybe blur everything a bit more, make the sun darker, and the blue planet darker, they dont look very realistic.. but im not sure how to improve it, sorry
and i thnk 1 sun or star is enough (big one)
its good for a start though, nice job! _________________ postcount++; |

http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts_arts/making_a_star_field.html
perfect for improving ur starfield, basically u just build more na dmore layers with bigger and smaller stars
the main lightening effect looks good as the bottom lens flare, the planets need a darker shadow so just increase the opasity of the shadow or make it darker which ever way you did it, then they will probably look more spherized/realistic
that will give you a good start on improving these
note: the lens falres ROCK! most people use them however i'd suggest editing them a little more like makign them bigger or smaller or adding a textured layer over it and setting it to overlay like clouds or something, just be creative with it, but the main lig htening looks good liek that anyways _________________ http://i337m1k3.deviantart.com for my ART Profile. |

Perhaps try and make the lens flare less obvious _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

ya thats one of the first things i realized hurts it.
i couldnt quick fix it though because i put them directly on the background. I should have layered them. |

K. I made a new one, with the starfield as my focus. Its my first shot at it. It came out, i think, good, but as always im sure there's something that obviously needs improvement that i cant quite see.
What do you guys like/dislike?
