Hi everyone, my first post, be gentle. 
I have a long term issue with selections and filling such selections with colour. Sounds easy enough but nothing so far has worked.
To make it quick this is what I do:
- Use pen tool
- Stroke Path: Paintbrush, 4 pix, zero hardness brush.
- Select area inside area with Magic Wand.
- Fill area with Paint-bucket.
Below is a picture of what I get (left half) and the right half is after I fix it up (time consuming!!).
My question is: How do you do line work like this and avoid this issue?
Now using Stroke Path as a Pen works fine. But the outline looks horrible.
Edit: I have tried the Tolerance values for Wand and Bucket.
Im using CS5.

hi,
some halo's there....
try this and see if this works for you...
go ahead and use the pin tool....
and then convert that into a selection... make sure there no feathering.. in this case...
now... do your fill first... now alittle tip pick your forground
color you want for the fill and do a alt+backspace that will automatically
fill in the selection... up to the edge of the selection.!! you can also do a right click and click fill for the same results..
note the following will actually overlap the fill preventing those halows
and then do your stroke--
choose your color
choose weather you want it centers or inside or outside
and choose the thiickness and then OK
now it should look nice |

Thanks for the reply Jerry!
This process worked well. I had no idea you could turn a selection into a stroked path (like the pen tool). It just means ill have to do my filling and linework at the same time. Was doing all my line work first.
U da man! This issue has been bugging me for a long, long time.

the new technique should save you a lot of time and fustrations... I know how aggravating and fustrating to take care of those little thing like halo's ...
