PS Version: Photoshop CS6 Extended
OS: windows 7 [64bit]

how can i select more than one layer and switch off their visibility temporarily just like we do in autocad??

hi,

one way...
a. to select hold down the shift key and click the layers in the layer pallete
that will do the multible selection part

b. don't know if this tip is usefull to you but you can toggle on and off simultanious ... by holding down the alt key and clicking the eye on one of the layers.... but i have run into the issue that depending on which one were off and on may not get the results you want...

be interested to see what other peoples say

Alt clicking the eye (visibility) turns off all other layers except the currently selected layer.

I would perhaps look to grouping layers in sets.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but:
Select all of the layers you want to hide (use control or shift in layers panel to select multiple) then go the menu option layer>hide. You can also do layer>show to show them again (after selecting).
