Hey guys,

I am somewhat new to Photoshop and I have a simple question. I created an image and see the background color to RGB 0,255,0 (Lime). I saved this image as a .png and published it to my website. When I go to the page with my image, I can save or copy the image. If I COPY the image and paste it in a new canvas in photoshop, use the colorpicker tool to select the lime, It has changed to 0, 249, 0. However, if I save the image and open it with photoshop, it is 0,255, 0. Can someone explain to me exactly what is happening to cause this? I would like some detail. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, it's an old classic of bad colour management set-up. It might also depend on if you are using a colour managed browser such a firefox or not such as IE, but rest assured it's colour management.

Tag the image with a sRGB colour profile if you intend to use for the web and to be honest most places are geared up these days to handle sRGB as a standard.

This Article on Colour Management should get you sorted!
