Hi oops2001, the tutorial is already pretty clear. What aspect are you having a problem with? If it's the gradient make sure you have a foreground to transparent selected.

Step 5 and Step 6 I am lost in that. How to click..what to click first.drag and all..Please help. |

After creating a new layer and using the brush tool to paint the spray, you need to Ctrl+click on this layer (in the layers palette) to select it (marching ants). Then press Ctrl+Shift+C (copy merged) or go to Edit>Copy Merged.
I think in essence he is asking you to create two paint layers and move one behind the text and one in front of the text layer.
