I'm getting this problem over and over: Adobe Photoshop CS4 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Usually I just restart. This time I did a system restore to a working date, but still get the problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm running XP. Thanks!

Just offering some sympathy here (sorry I can't do better)! Sounds like a pain. Hope somebody can suggest something. Otherwise an uninstall/reinstall?

Thanks for the sympathy. I ran a virus scan as a last resort, and lo and behold, dumping some spyware seeemed to do the trick. The problem with the crashing was whenever I tried to open a file. By default, it would begin with the MY PICTURES folder, then crash with that error message.

Still, if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I have a feeling the problem hasn't gone away completely.
