I've made a terrible mistake! I created a very complicated layer to "ghost" over a background image, but I used a low fill opacity when creating the layer instead of adjusting the layer opacity after it was made. The layer is white, and it has a black line on it that I need to "erase" with a brush. But since the background has a low fill opacity, I can't just brush over it or it'll darken that part of the layer...
Does anyone know a way around this issue? |

Try using the clone stamp on the black line, cloning from the white area.
Or draw a selection around it then use edit>fill>>Use: content aware.
You can always undo if it doesn't work. |
