Hey guys I had a question and wondered if anyone else had the same problem or knew a solution to it.
I design a graphic on my laptop which comes out great with good lighting and realistic textures but when I view the image on a different computer or monitor, it's much darker and seems to have lost image quality; So i get pretty bad reviews on the images because of this... Any solutions???
I design on an IBM Thinkpad 1440 x 900px, 32 bit color. |

Ah, there's an area of knowledge (and an industry) around this, but I'm afraid I'm not so crash hot on the topic. You need to search for info on how to "calibrate your monitor". You can even buy hardware/software to help you do it (I'm not professional enough to help you there)! There's some basic calibration you can do for free under Windows, but I forgot how... I just know that I have to make my pics a bit "lighter" when I send them off to print...
Now hopefully you'll get some further opinions from those with a little more professional experience than I can provide... |

my thoughts...
first of all did you ever calibrate your monitor??? in that way you know for sure that your monitor setting are fine.....
now after that... you don't have a whole of control about on other computers monitors ..
a lot depends on how people have there monitor setup
ie; the brightness and contrast, the gamma settings .... etc..
I run into this all the time my self.... my monitor it looks fine but on other people monitor it too light or too dark .. in fact when some ofmy friends send me pictures to work on i got into the habit of asking if the picture is too dark orlight on there screen ..
also not all monitors are equal as far as the color quality... it like your tv's ... you end up looking at several tv's and deciding which one actually give you the best picture color quality ....
the only other thing i can think of is make sure your work space setup for srgb .. well those are my thoughts |
