You don't have to have the 64bit version, it will work fine.

hi,
i have new win 7 64 bits and cs5

1. it works great , nice and fast, i love that part...lol , no problems....

2. i bought the box... and when i installed it installed both the
ps cs5 64 bit version and the cs5 32 bit version ..... and that worked out nice for me...

3. so far the only thing and don't know if it will be a issue with you or not but
plug ins!!!! some plug in are just for 32 bit version... so if you have some legacy plug in .. may want to check the manufacture site and see if it will work with the 64 bit version or not if not if there a update for the plug in.. ..... i had plugin that didn't work with the 64bit version so i just installed it with the 32 bit cs5 ...

Thank you!
Will Photoshop CS5 make use of the extra memory offered by 64 bit system or do I need a CS5 64 bit version to do that?

Here's a list that hopefully will make it clearer.

You'll get both versions with CS5. A 32 bit version and a 64 bit version will both be installed automatically. That's so that you can still run stuff for 32 bit if you need to. You shouldn't have to do anything special or buy anything special.

I have Windows 7 64 bit and CS5 and it has been a painless experience.
