I'm having a number of problems with CS5 and so decided to uninstall and then re-install. When I try to do so, I get the message "Please close all of the following programs (Bridge.exe)". I don't have Bridge open, at least that I can see, it doesn't show in Task Manager. I get the same message when I try to update.
I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit on this computer and Windows Vista 32 bit on my laptop. I have the same problem on it.
I contacted PS support and chatted with someone who then decided that it was a technical problem and left me stranded. _________________ Dan

Just offering some sympathy here, I can't think of what it could be. Have you tried uninstalling immediately after a reboot (without starting Photoshop) first?
It's very curious that you say the same thing is happening on two different computers. You also said that you were having a number of problems, which is the reason you wanted to reinstall. Perhaps there are some clues there - were these problems which could be explained by an initial faulty installation?
Is it only Photoshop/Bridge which is causing issues? Have you installed anything else lately which might have done rude things like stuff with registries?
Hopefully somebody else here will have better suggestions, but it might be one where you have to keep being assertive and persistent with technical support.
Hope you sort it, these problems can be really annoying! |

hi,
i assume in the task manager you look at
the services and processes .. i know that when i startup bridge it will appear
in processes ..
did you also look in your msconfig....?
both the startups and services
also did you look in your start menu>startup
and previously mentioned any problems at all with other programs?
i don't know why it would be doing that other than if you opend up.. but if bridge is automatically starting at boot....
one of two things to do...
1. go into your msconfig and disable all startup, click apply and reboot..
and then do your uninstall
2. go into safe mode and uninstall
final note it sounds like the reason you have the issue is something in your setting that you setup at time of install... since it happening on2 different computers.. |
