hi,
there too little info ...
geneally when things are not hilight it for the reason that your using something that another tool or feature is not designed todo...
examples...
if youdon't open a image almost everything is grey out in the menus
so when you doopen a image now there avail ...
also if youopen a gif image you'll find a lot of things , especiallyif there related to layers, are greyed out ... they only only become avail if you change the mode from index to rgb ...
now the above just the most common reasons....... now could be a problem withthe installation but vast majority of the time it a matter of paying attention the what mode your yourworking in or what tools are selected |

hi,
before reinstalling.... i think it best if you give some details on specifically what items are grayed out....
is this your first time working with photoshop of any version?
now...
certain things needs to takeplace before there avail...
example if you just open a let say a jpg image and you go to the edit menu
you'll see a lot of items are grayed out and that normal ... however... if you do a selection in the
menu andthen go to the edit menu you'll see there is now more items avail...
another example..
if you just have a single layer and look at the layer menu there mostly grayed out... because most of the items are designed to where you need multible layers... so the moment you add or duplicate a layer in your project now you see quite a few items not avail ...
another example....
open a gif file.... now that is a indexed file and if you look at the image>adjustments you'll find most things are grayed out because those items only work if the file is in rgb mode . in which case what you would do is go your image>mode and change the index mode to rgb mode and then all those gryed out items will not become avail ... |
