I have been working really intensely on a few files lately. And as long as I could remember I've gotten, "could not save "(filename)" Because the file is already in use or was left open." I am not sure why. Almost every time I leave PS opened for a few minutes, maybe a half hour, and then attempt to use the save feature this pops up. It's been a real pain, and I don't know how long it's been happening for. It really delays my work. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me solve this problem. Keep in mind I'm not the most advanced PS user, and may need direction. |

hi,
not sure how much i can help... but here some thoughts...
1. as far as that thread is concerned most of the post don't really apply...
the good stuff what there saying is that thier a link to a open file between photoshop and another program ie quirk and indesigned... and this is causing the issue that the person is having...
so by anychance do you use those programs? if so that maybe what going on
2. other possiblity is are you using any plugins? or any previews in connection with photoshop??? maybe some plugin is not completely turning it self on and hense the file remain open... just an idea...
3. what operating system your using? isaw a lot of this issue with mac os systems... but no remedies...
take a look at this thread...
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/370206
final note: in the past, not just photoshop but any program where i would get that type of message it because some other program had the file open that i forgot toclose ..
if you do a fresh reboot.... and let say you donothing else ecept open a photoshop file... and then do a save are there any problems?
i hope my thought help... |
