I just downloaded some layer styles, and tried a few out, then I tried to apply different blend modes to the layer and none of the blend modes are working with it. I click on different modes and nothing changes..
Any ideas why? Is it just a glitch or is it just like that for some reason?

Ps-i am a complete and utter newbie, just fyi..lol

thanx in advance =)
Amanda :)

Hey

Layer Styles aren't effected by a layers blend mode.

They have their own individual blend modes in the layer styles dialogs for each style setting. (See pic)

If you want to apply an overall blend mode to the style setting you have already, you can right click the layer (in the layers window) and convert it to a smart object.
This make the style part of the layer, so the blend mode will apply.
