Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums.
I have a small problem that I'd would like some help with. I'm trying to create a basic background [i'm attaching it here] with two different blues.

-The blue on the left it's a gradient
-The blue on the right it's a brush @ 200px brush size
-the text it's a gradient too.

I'm not liking the smoothness of either one. on the circles you can see the rings with the different shades of blue as it fades outwards on both circles
and with the text you can see also the different shades of blue. kinda looks like an old .gif file.

I'm using PS CS5 in a Windows XP 16-bit.

I tried different settings from :
72dpi 8-bit & 16-bit

and also i've tried at:
300 dpi 8-bith & 16-bit

I've tried to save it as jpg and png with the maximum resolutions possible but still the results aren't smooth.

I remember i didn't have this problem before. My gradients and brushes used to be smoother. I dont think i changed any settings. The only changes i made was, i installed a few brush packs. but i dont think that could affect the output of my images.

All help will be greatly appreciate it.

Thanks a lot in advanced.

May be a problem with your display.

The gradients in the picture view smooth to me.
Web test looks slightly different moving my head up and down.

Can anyone else see banding?

Changing windows display properties to 16bit colour mode makes obvious bands.

Thanks for the reply,
my screen resolution is at 1280 x 800 @ 32-bit colours. at first i also tought it could be my screen, but looking at the other designs with gradients, they look smooth and nice, but mine i can see the rings or lines. Not sure why

Thanks

No banding here Sir! :) There are rather technical essays on the theory of banding/resolution etc... it's not for me to interject(ish). It is a large pool.

Mmmm advanced banding resolution theory. My head hurts already.

Seriously tho, have no clue why it would be occurring.

Sorry Bro. If i think of anything...
