I am using this cute little notebook with 1024x600 screen display under Windows XP Home. All programs work fine except CS4, but only when saving for Web and Devices. When I select 'Save For Web and Devices' a pop-up window appears with the selected image ready for saving but the pop-up window is taller than my screen display so I cannot see the selection items and buttons in the bottom right of the pop-up window (see attached screen-shot). I have tried to move the pop-up windows but I can't move it far enough, I have tried resetting the Photoshop specific preferences and other Windows tricks but nothing seems to allow me to resize the pop-up to my screen display size. I do not now if this is a Windows XP or CS4 issue but it seems to be CS4 (and specifically this one function) because all other programs/functions recognize the screen display size correctly. Can anybody help me remove this frustration from my life?

Thanks for the link. As the link says, it "won’t look that pretty". But it allowed me to see the bottom of the pop-up. The challenge now is that working in this emulated screen mode it is not so good for editing the images . . .

Like the most modern pharmacists we have only treated the symptom but not found the cure, and there are side effects.

Is there another fix that will allow me to resize the pop-up windows permanently so I can have good photo editing powers AND have the pop-up the correct size for the display area?

OR

Is this a known bug in CS4 and has it been fixed in CS5 or later? If fixed in later editions then maybe I will pay for the upgrade.

Standing by for more ideas . . .

I have read in more than one place the there is no solution for this problem on the netbooks.

I know it is still an issue on CS5. So no point upgrading.

Apparently the only way to get past it besides the way your already using is by using the keyboard to control the 'save for web' window.

tab 16x is device central
tab 17x is preview
tab 18x is save
tab 19x is cancel
tab 20x is done

Why don't you increase your screen resolution:

On your desktop right mouse click
click Properties> Settings > then move the slider bar on the lower left to change resolution.

I'm surprized that PS CS5 actually works on a net book! Are you sure it's a full version or Thinstalled one?

Thanks for the tab info - very useful.

Screen resolution on this little computer is already set to maximum 1024x600

Yes it is the full version and I have 4GB of RAM in the computer so it works reasonably well along with Dreamweaver. I travel a lot and work directly with clients on their websites so it is hard to lug anything larger with me (e.g. I can easily climb a ladder with this one to check an installed IP camera installation for example).

If CS5 has the same limitation then I guess Adobe does not see the market penetration of these smaller screens lasting for long. Oh well !

Maybe I should revisit GIMP and see if has the same challenges.

Thanks again.

Yeah I have to agree with you about the smaller screens.

When I was having a look I came across a comment about Adobe not wanting their products run on 'sub-standard' machines. So other users that may borrow your netbook don't have a bad experience with their product.

Disappointing for lots of users if this is the case.
