I am trying to change the color of my jewelery from gold to silver. But I am not getting the desired results.

What I did is this - reduce saturation, use levels, color balance.

But it does not look silver rather grey. Has any here done this before?

After you desaturate go into 'Image > Adjustments > Levels'

For each picture it will be different however the general idea is the same.

Adjust both the highlight and shadow input past the edges of the input levels graph. Then move the midtone arrow back down towards the shadows.

This should give you more of a chrome/silver look when changing gold.

Also a lot of the time silver will be reflecting the blue sky.

Image > Adjustments > Photo Filter

From the drop down menu choose the first cooling filter (80).

Curves can be used in stead of levels for a slightly better result.
(still a bit off imo) :)

lol cheers Hermit how much? Big Wink

I see what you mean. Mine ended up very similar to yours so...

I had to duplicate the layer, change new layer blending mode to screen and then mask out the overblown highlights on the new layer.

Oh and instead of desaturating to begin with i just dropped the saturation down low and changed the gold to blue.
