heya all - im a noobie here - have a question for ya.
I have a friend who was using a hacked version of photoshop for a few years and recently decided to pay $700 for a legal version of the software, which is great because the people who make photoshop certianly deserve to be paid for their efforts. But what struck me as odd was his reason for doing so.
He has recently desided to be a professional photographer and he heard that if you use a pireted copy of photoshop, it embeds a hidden code into every picture that passes through the software and publishers can read the code and can tell if you did or didnt use a legal copy of photoshop and then publishers will reject your photos if your copy was not legal.
I personaly use an old program called Firewoks 4 for graphics cause I am not very talented.
But I figured i would ask the photoshop pros if it was true of just a myth.
Does photoshop really embed a hidden code in every pic??

There are codes that are applied to images, yes, but I do not know if there is some hidden "tattle tail" code, so to speak. The embedded image information is completely editable if you know how to find it. It can be used to include meta data for web use, and list other image information such as who created the image, who owns it, copyright info, etc. As I said though, this information can all be changed by the user.

I don't think that photoshop embeds a hidden code in every picture  why would they do that. |
