Well, first off let me say I'm using Photoshop CS. I do most of my work for newspaper publications, so I would say I'm an intermediate Photoshop user but just never get to do any of the fancy stuff. Yesterday I was following the instructions from a book on how to take a picture and turn it into a shadow. I started by putting a selection around the image, then inversing that selection to get what I needed. Next I pressed Shift-Command-J to cut the pic from the background layer and place the selection on its own separate layer. Then I pressed "d" to set my foreground color to black. Now here's where it didn't work. The book says I should press Shift-Option-Delete to fill the image with black. When I pressed the keystrokes, nothing happened. I repeated the directions from start to finish multiple times with the same results. Is there something in setup that I need to fix? Or is there something about the selection the book is not telling me? _________________ IMAC G4 1.25 Gz

OK, I see what it is now. What I'm used to calling a backspace key is labeled "delete" on this Mac keyboard. I was pressing the other delete button. As you can tell, I have only been using a Mac for a couple of months. Thanks. _________________ IMAC G4 1.25 Gz
