Hi,

I have a bit of a strange request. I am trying to digitize an image to use in a sewing programme called Dreamvision. The end format need to be .sew Is there any way I can install additional 'save as' formats in Photoshop? Any ideas would be a great help....

Thanks,

Mark.

Anything for use in a program like that is Vector based and needs to be a vectorized image......Dreamvision itself will have to create the .sew file, but you should be able to import either a jpg, a psd file or an adobe illustrator file to start with.....Most programs like that have either an autotrace feature (depending on how high end it is) or at least the ability to import it into the program and redraw it so that the end result is a usable file.

If you have adobe illustrator (or are good at vectoring in photoshop) vectorize your image and import it into Dreamvision. It should be able to automatically place the needed nodes in and allows for any resize you may need...

Programs like this set what are called nodes, which is how the program knows how to make whatever image is loaded into the program...Therefore just importing an image in without tracing it somehow, it'll have no nodes to work off of and will not be able to sew your end image.

Don't know if any of this helps, as I've rambled quite a bit, but if that doesn't answer your question a little or if it gave you more, I'll see if I can better answer your question...

it may be an idea to posterize yor image before tracing as this will cut down on the number of coloured cottons that would be needed
