|
|
Hello.
I’m new to Photoshop and I’ve just joined the forum.
Here’s my problem. I’ve attended a 2-day InDesign training and that has enabled me to start using InDesign well enough to get the 28-32 page magazine laid out.
But I struggle with advertisements. The advertising manager sends them, usually as pdf docs. I have to modify them to match the magazine’s two-tone colour ready for the printer.
My association paid for the two-day training but we’re a small outfit (530 members) with limited funds. I don’t really need much of what PS has to offer. It seems crazy to get them to pay for further training, most of which will be irrelevant.
I’ve bought Photoshop 3 for Dummies but I can’t understand it well enough to find what I want in it. This raises further doubts about the benefit of further training.
What I really need is a step-by-step guide that I can follow to open the advert in PS3 and modify it’s colour to CMYK duotone and place it in the InDesign layout.
Any help or guidance will be much appreciated _________________ Mort |

First convert the image to greyscale-Image-Mode-Greyscale. Once converted go to Image-Mode-Duotone, you'll get a menu from which you need to select duotone from the dropdown box.
Then you need to select the colors you want. Do this by dbl-clicking the color swatch, then color picker will then open, then click Color Library and select the correct library (ask your printer) from the dropdown list. Then select the appropriate colors. |
