Hello,

I am fairy new to photoshop and I am hoping someone share share their knowledge. I have added an elipse to an image which I have coloured blue. I want to add a white broken line just inside the elipse as per the attachment.

Any help would be much apprecaited.

Thanks[/img]

Welcome to the forum mullsey, I can't see from the tiny image but I presume there is a white dashed line just on the inside of the blue circle.

Select the blue circle by Ctrl clicking on the layer thumbnail, when it's selected (marching ants) go to Select>Transform Selection and holding Alt+Shift drag the handles inwards to reduce the circumference to desired size. Edit>Stroke, to get a dashed line you will have to change the spacing in your brush palette.

Hi The Hermit,

Many thanks for your reply. I am nearly there with your help, however, when I try and select stroke within edit it is greyed out. Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you on a separate layer? I was unclear, forgive me. Have you created the blue circle (rather than the source material with background you have shown)? If so, that should be on one layer and the resized stroked/dashed effect on another.

Sadly, my skills in these matters are almost PS3 standard, it's not something I like to shout about ;)
