yes i am a newb, and i was wondering what the better quality image types were.
when i export from PS i have the option of everything from BMP and JPEG, to PCX and PNG.

some of these i know and most i dont. so firstly what are these different file types? and more importantly, which are the better quality images?

thanks in advance

Depends upon your output really. I normally provide clients with a TIFF. I always provide a lossless format but some clients still prefer JPEG which is obviously a lossy format, for some reason.
