Hello everyone, is there a way to significantly reduce the file size of an image without reducing the quality of the image? _________________ tennis singles | football date |

I usually resize my pics from 2200 x XXXX to 1200 x XXXX. The quality remains almost the same yet the size is significant. Is that what you mean? |

Yes and no.
Some file formats will offer greater compression than others.
There is no magic wand however or there would be no reason to have larger file sizes.
A combination of compressions will shrink it to smallest possible size but then it will take time to decompress and get it back into the editor.
Willowbee is correct with image size vs file size but i presume he/she has a monitor which has been shrinking the larger pics down automatically... (Mines the same)
Otherwise there will be a noticeable quality difference at pixel parity with an image that has been resized by half.
You can get some surprising results with the Save for web dialogue in relation to quality and file size.
Make sure to learn the ins and outs of this. Try different presets. |
