I am glad to find this forum.
I used Photoshop my last job. Resisted learning it for a couple of years because I was hired as a writer. When I needed some simple graphic manipulation I used Paint! When I needed something sophisticated, I turned to our graphics designers, who used Photoshop.
They designers kept telling me I should learn PS. I think they were tired of me bugging them for every little job, like adding a drop shadow to something. But the whole concept of "layers" (amond other things) baffled me, and so I held out.
Finally, though, I dove in, and after a few months, I began to see the beauty and wonder of PS -- especially the layers thing!
I am currently unemployed, except for my freelance jobs. I have Photoshop here at home, and use it for all kinds of miscellaneoius projects. The main thing I'm using it for now is to design graphics for t-shirts at Zazzle!
Looking forward to visiting here often and learning more stuff I can do with PS.
