I meet almost all of the system requirements for cs5 except I lack the Shader Model 3.0 Cry , and I was wondering which features(graphics) would require this? Is it worth to get cs5, cs5 extended, or neither without this Shader Model 3.0? Sorry I'm new to this.. Confused

My best guess would be it has something to do with the new Photoshop 3D features.

'Some GPU-accelerated features in Photoshop CS5 require Shader Model 3.0'
Only some, not the regular features. (I have CS5 running on a laptop, on board graphics, no shader )

Obviously it depends on your situation what you should buy. New software is more future-proof than old. New video card possibly if your keen.

Good to know that it will run on a laptop without the shader too.
