Hi

First of all happy new year to everyone, my problem is I have recently bought a new printer an Epson SX410 I use CS4 on my laptop and the printer is connected to our desktop I connect to it through a wireless network my old printer also an Epson worked fine.

I can print from the laptop in say Word or ACDsee etc. but as soon as I try to print from CS4 I get a message saying:

"before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer"

It also says the same when I click on Page Setup.

In control panel/Printers the Epson is the default printer and as I say it prints fine from other programs?

Vista 32 Premium
Dual core 2.16ghz
2gb RAM
120gb H/D

Does anyone have a clue what may be causing this any help really appreciated...

When you click print you should get a pop-up box to select the printer. If the printer isn't listed, click Find Printer... At least in CS3 it works this way.

With the laptop, if you go to printers and faxes in Control Panel, does it show the printer?

I blame Windows 7 (for most bad things in the world). I recently got a new laptop with W 7 and it "tricked me" into installing my Canon iP4700 printer drivers, instead oif just setting the network printer as I had expected. Eventually I found how to set the network printer. Everything printed fine but never CS4 - which ALWAYS (any file, new Prefs file or not).

Until tonight... I UNinstalled the iP4700 drivers and Presto!... CS4 prints (to the iP4700 on the network).
