I am trying to change the color of a button image that was created for us. I tried to change the layer color but I don't know how to. It is green and I want to change it to yellow. See attached.

Hi awspirer,
Damo77 is right, Hue/Saturation is a great way of doing that kind of work. The other thing I'd throw in is to make sure 'colorize' is activated inside the dialogue box.
