Hello, if anyone knows how to increase brushes in photoshop one pixel at a time using "[ ]" brackets, it would be really helpful. I did something and now it increases 5 pixels at a time if the brush is over 10 pixels. Please help! It's driving me mad not finding a solution to this. Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the forum photoshopuser1. If you use the square brackets it increments in 10. I am not sure that there is a way to increase in increments of 1. You could use Alt and the right mouse button to increase/decrease the size. Again you could right click the canvas and use the sliders to increase/decrease.

My final thoughts are that if you create 1px differential brushes then Photoshop should cycle through in order.

If you think you have altered something irrevocably in the settings then reset your preferences, hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift whilst opening Photoshop, select yes when it asks you to reset.
