Help with colours...

Hey, I'm kinda new to photoshop, and I've been trying to work this out for a while. I got sick of trying so now I'm here.

Here is the sig I'm working on, and need help with:

I'd like to make the Halo master chief guys (renders?) blend in with the background colour. Like they do in this tut... http://www.gfx-heaven.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=7

Can anyone help me?

I'm running Adobe Photoshop CS.

Did you try any of the blending modes, you can apply to a layer (they are in a box on the top left side of your layer window)? If you are on your figure try adding them..

If you're on your layer of the master chief go to Image -> Adjustments -> Desaturate

This will turn that layer black and white. Then go to Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation

Check the box that says Colorize. This will tint the master chief any color you want. Adjust the hue slider to get the color you want. Once you get the right color, adjust the saturation and brightness sliders to get the right shade/tint of the color. I'd just eyeball it and make it match the blue. It might even look pretty cool if you chose a contrasting color like red or something that goes with the blue. I'm worried it might be too much blue, unless you're planning to add in some text that's a different color or something.

witam's blending options suggestion may work out better for you though.

I had actaully tried that witam, and to no avail. Bawling

I just gave the Hue/Saturation technique a go, thanks heaps!! Worked perfectly!

and, I did plan to add some text. However, this brings me to another problem. I don't know how to make it look good. Frown

Could someone please give me some examples or something?

This is what I've come up with using the hue/saturation, anyone got any ideas on how to add some text?

I actually had just hunted down that font, if i'd waited, you could have saved me some time! Big Wink

What I was really wondering though, is how you make it looke like that? like, what kind of effects you used, etc.

Well the text is white with a dark blue 1 pixel stroke.

I copied the text layer, kept it white, cleared all the styles, right clicked the layer, selected Rasterize Layer, went to Filter -> Blur -> Radial Blur, Selected Zoom for the blur method, Best for quality, and 65 for amount. That's all... Big Grin

If you're intrested this is what I came up with:

I couldn't work out how to do zoom blur properly. It kept coming up really badly, so I thought I'd try the spin method - and I really liked it.
