On the first one the bevel effect doesn't seem to look very good to me....I have done it myself and didn't like it. I do like all the other elements. I like to flatten the image then give it some bevel.
The 2nd is solid IMO.
Overall nice job

I think your doing what I used to try and do and add some sort of effect (bevel, outer glow or stroke for eg) with every layer but I don't think you need it. Also I think the top image of Drogba is slightly squashed, when looking at the football it doesn't look very round. I do think you need to make your focus points clearer though because it is hard to see Drogba's face very clearly.
