Hi all. I am trying to make an action for my watermark.
I can make the watermark just fine, except i always want it to got to the bottom right corner, then move up 10 pixels and to the left 10 pixels.
So far all my efforts to do this with PS 7 yeild failures if the image size is different then that which the action is recorded on.
I have used the linking and aligning method through PS buttons.
I can not find any tutorials on actions and alignment, so I don't know if it is even possible. |

Is there no one that can help me with getting an action to start at the lower left or right corner of ANY size image? |

Hey, I'm glad you bumped this. I was gonna reply a while back on this but forgot.
How automated do you want the process to be? Do you want the action to open >> edit >> save the file? Will the watermark always be the same watermark? If so, do you have it saved as a PSD? A shape?
Gimme a few specifics and I can help you with this _________________ I got nuthin. |

EDIT: I use Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and am assuming Adobe wasn't that stupid enough to change this in 7.0
I have no problems creating an action that aligns a layer on any image size to the bottom left or right. These are my steps in my action:
- New Layer "Layer 1"
- Fill "Layer 1" with e.g. #FFFFFF
- Copy Watermark from "Document xxx"
- Paste Watermark on current document as "Layer 2"
- Select "Layer 1"
- Link "Layer 1" to "Layer 2" keeping "Layer 1" selected
- Layer > Align Linked > Bottom Edges
- Layer > Align Linked > Left Edges
- Delete "Layer 1"
The key trick here is creating a new layer that has the size of the document. You could also make the by default fixed Background layer a 'floating' layer called "Layer 0" -- when doing this you basically make the image transparant. Hope it helps. _________________ Jeroen Mulder

Hmm I will give that a shot JMulder
as for the watermark, it was an action, and I was not linking it, so i think that was an element I didnt account for.
I will get back to you on that. Thanks. |

Thanks got it working, but now I encountered a new problem. I can just make a second action if need be...but
Some of the image the water mark go onto are very small, and the text size i used (4 will actually go off the image..
if there any way to scale to the image size? I didnt notice anything for the layer options, plus I am use to doing everything by hand, so I normally just use scale, but it the text fits in the image boundries just fine I don't want to scale it.
I don't know if that can be done just asking |

You can click the 'dialog prompt' box in the action itself to be prompted at text-creation, or create a resizing step that you just turn off when it's not needed.
Expand the action in the Actions Palette and you will see what I mean, I think. _________________ I got nuthin. |
