I am using phpBB2 and I want to create some buttons and graphics to use in the board.
phpBB displays a small animated button at the bottom of my portal page that I would like to know how to duplicate,
What is special about it is that it is only 88x31 pixels and has both type and a graphic that show up very clearly. Also, how do you soften the colors like that?
My second question (third, actually) is how do I go about creating the 3-d effect for a graphic as illustrated in the portalpage.gif button? I can create the gradient but I can't seem to create the raised or depressed look.

use a different font and try outer glow/inner glow (just a TAD)

I found this site from another board http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/
It will take your picture and reduce it to the 16x16 pixels for a small icon to be used for the bookmarks of the browser. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get a clear image that will reduce nicely!
