k21pilot, I guess what we could consider this is the whole header. The background is nice, but I'm not sure about the other elements. Also, the mic that is featured is more traditionally used by singers, right? A mic that is more commonly seen for presentations would probably fit better in a logo idea.
Speakers, I appreciating you sketching that (if it's your sketch). I feel like there could be some potential around the sketch, but I am not sure. I'm not really a fan of the text in this case. The font of Social and Speakers could work in some context, but I'm not sure about the Media font.
I hope that these thoughts are useful in some way. Thanks again. I appreciate you taking the time.

If this is not heading in the right direction is there any chance of posting a sample of the style you are looking for.

Yeah, I would say these aren't heading in the direction I'm looking for. I'll do my best to provide some examples of some logos that I like. Here's some:

niftyned, I appreciate you taking the time to do these. They are closer in the sense that some of them are closer to what I posted as examples, but they lack of the polish of those logos that I posted. I'm not really a fan of the iconography in the logos, either, unfortunately. Are they from a font like webdings, etc.? Probably won't work. But, thanks for giving it a go.
k21pilot, I'm not sure if this is descriptive but what I would say is that it doesn't really feel like a logo. It just feels like generic text at the top of the page. If that makes any sense.
