so i built a computer to run phonto shop, and it needs to do 160dpi at a large size, feet i guess, and when transforming of modifying some files, it take 10-30 minutes. the system is a 4.3ghz amd 965, 4gb ddr3 1800mhz, 7200mhz WD black TB drive. what needs to be changed? the sytem seems to lock up, and says not responding, but after a few minutes the changes are applied. but while the process is going on, there is minimal CPU usuage.. i dont get it... |

Have a look in the preferences menu and make sure you are using all the available ram.

Which OS are you using?
Is your machine 32 bit or 64?
Which version of Photoshop have you got?
