Hello!
I am working on a project where I have created a brush but I want it to retain it's original color and appearance from the picture I used to make it (AKA not in black and white or adjustable to another shade). I know I have seen brushes like this before so i was wondering if anyone knew how to do it? Thanks!

Create the brush shape with the color you want, then use brush preset manager, pick new brush preset from the flyout menu. You'll then have the save color option.
