|
|
In the top left corner of Metadata, where it shows aperture and shutter info, followed by metering method and exposure offset, there is a White Balance box, just before you get to iso setting.
Sometimes this White Balance shows AWB, and other times it shows an icon representing a persons head and shoulders, even on adjacent images where I know no settings were changed. What does this represent?
Invaribably the images with the head and shoulders icon are better exposed than those with the AWB shown.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

AWB = auto white balance. The head and shoulders icon represents a selected white balance. Better cameras allow you to choose a specific white balance for the situation such as, tungsten, flash, cloudy, florescent, custom, etc.
Check white balance in your camera manual. |

Thank you. It makes sense now. The head/shoulders icon appears when I choose a specific white balance in Camera Raw. When I skip that it just shows AWB.
I guess I wasn't aware that meta data could be changed in Camera Raw/
Again, thanks
