I picked up an external hard drive and want to (re)install Photoshop on it. Do you know if it will work? Would I need to uninstall the program from the main drive? |

Yes you can install it on the new drive. No, you shouldn't install it on the new drive.
If you do it, you need to un-install it first. Restart your system, then install it again and select your new drive as your installation location.
But why? You should be running all your programs from your C: drive.
Use your new drive as your 'scratch' disk for Photoshop and you'll see how much faster it runs. |

Using it as a scratch disk does what I was intending without me having to do something stupid. Thanks. The drive was a Christmas present from my daughter. This week I got hit with a trojan and couldn't open any programs. I got around it to where I could move all my personal stuff to the external. Wow. I just realized it's name is IO Mega, and he's a terrabyte of binary info. We'll call him IO. It didn't take long to move 65 gigs and accessing photos and videos is twice as fast. Was it half fast before? So with everybody safe, I restored factory settings. And now I'm on the largest ship in the world having dinner with you fine folks. I heard that line somewhere before???
Bye. I'm opening up the back lot to Photoshop. Thanks a million megs. |
