Hello
I have just one quick question:
Is it possible to select the layer above the selected layer(and deselect the currect layer)?
The reson I ask is becuse I create actions.

Click the eye icon in the layers palette to turn off the layer. |

I know that. Sorry if I didnt explain good.
I try again:
How can I select the layer that is above the current selected layer?
I know that I can simply click in it, but if there is another way, I can add it to my actions. |

You can do it with the keyboard if that is what you are asking.
PC = alt-[ or alt-] (bottom and top layers respectfully)
Mac = option-[ or option-]

FYI, using ctrl/command-[ or ] moves the current selected layer up and down if you need to move it for whatever reason.

If I'm understanding you correctly, I tried this myself and it didn't work as an action. I wanted to make an action that selects the layer above, and moves it below the original layer. But, when I click the action, the layer stays on top. I'll play with it more, and see what I can get. If I get it, i'll post it for you.

Be sure you are not holding the alt key i both cases. I tried it myself and it works perfectly, although I am not sure why you would want to make just two keystrokes a action.
Note that in order to SELECTlayers you are pressing and holding the Alt key while pressing the right and left bracket keys and to MOVE the currently selected layer you are pressing and holding the Ctrl key while pressing the right and left bracket keys.

This is a good keyboard tip, thanks. There are actually 2 reasons why I would make an action for this: I have extreme pain in my joints where the thumb meets the hand, and sometimes I'll create actions for keystrokes when I need to give my hands a rest. Also, sometimes I go back and 'record again' implementing other things.
