Hi all
I am only just starting out in Photoshop 7.0, as I have been using Ulead Photoimpact for the last 7 years 
I have drawn what is pretty much a box with the path tool, and with the brush tool set at 2 and a brown colour selected, I told it to stroke path. The problem is that the line seems to be pretty blurry around the edges, and I am hoping to get it more sharp. Is there any way of doing this?
P.S. I have just opened the file I have been working in for the last 3 hours getting the paths all set-up. Now...all my paths seem to of disappeared. Please tell me Photoshop doesn’t clear all the paths when it closes |

You are stroking the path with a brush by the sound of it (normal) make sure that the brush head you have selected is a hard round brush before choosing to stroke the path. If you have a soft brush selected before stroking the path it will stroke with that brush..
Don't panic your paths haven't vanished! In the layers palette (bottom right) there is also a paths tab, click on the tab to reveal your paths.

Hi,
The brush that will be used to stroke your paths, is the one you selected as your brush. If that was one wich is blurry, the stroke will be the same.
As far as i know your paths are still there (when you click on Window, you'll see the list of all the things you can see.) Make sure that paths are visible.. and they should be there.. But i'm not 100% sure about this. Maybe someone else knows for sure!

Awesome, the paths have come back. Phew!
As for the stroke path, I have already selected hard brush. Maybe i'm just being too picky 
Thanks heaps guys/gals!
One other question I have (instead of starting a whole new thread), is it possible to use the magic wand tool or the bucket tool and get it to recognize paths? I want to fill an area where I have not put down the painted edges yet. |

I noticed in ps 7 that sometimes you have to reaffirm the brush you want (by clicking on the brushtool in the toolbar) before you click on stroke-button (but after you made the path) and only then will you get the brush you selected as stroke-brush. Maybe this will help!
you can make a path a selection and then fill it, if that is your second question (also one of the buttons at the bottom of your paths-window)

Use the [ A ] Key to select you path (the white arrow ). and then either fill that path when selected or change it into a selection and then fill it. No brainer really (on the work front).
