|
|
Hey everyone. I need some help in here. I have this photo that I shot last week and I just can't get the right tones with the color balance tool. The image consists of my girlfriend laying on the grass and I wanted to improve the image so that it'd look brighter and natural. In the photo, she appears wearing a red and black tee that makes a really nice contrast with the lawn. The problem with the adjustment is that I get some kind of green tone to her skin, shoes and pants that I'd like to get rid of without using masks or layers. I hope you will find a way to make it look nice and natural.
Here are the links: the first to a preview of the original with two versions of the color balance results and the second a PSD file that includes the original with the correction in layers.

I know you don't want to use masks or layers, but if you want to colour balance just the grass and her tshirt, then you'll have to mask out the rest of her, so that the colour balance doesn't affect those parts.
Very simple to do, just create new adjustment layer, selecting 'colour balance'. Change the settings so that you're happy with the grass and tshirt. Then click on the layer mask thumbnail and brush out the bits that you don't want colour balanced. _________________ One step at a time |

Add a hue/saturation adjustment layer. Select yellow from the dropdown box and adjust it as you like. If you want to change the shirt, select red from the list. |

Forget my post Astrapolaris, Hawkeye's suggestion is a top tip.
I didn't know you could target certain colours with adjustment layers. _________________ One step at a time |

The skin looks over done, but that could just me my monitor. In the end though, it's the look that you want, your vision, that really counts. |
