Still finding my way around in Photoshop but I'm getting there slowly.
I have a problem when saving the files created by Photoshop. At the minute for some strange reason they find their way into the My Pictures folder in Windows XP. I'm not sure if they should be in there or more likely, somewhere else.
Any help or advice most welcome.
Cheers

They can be anywhere you want them to be. It's entirely up to you. |

I have a folder called work (backed up on a regular basis!), inside that I have private and client folders. Inside each of those I have folders called Misc (that's for briefs, client details, letters, emails, etc.) Images (for all my working PSDs) and output (or final) for the finished images.
Are you using Bridge to open and browse for folders and files, or just the standard operating browser? Either way, to save time when working on projects, set the directory you're working on as a favorite (Using Bridge = right mouse click on any folder and choose "Add to Favorites" or Standard menu, select any folder and click the 'Favorites' icon (top right) and select Add favorite)
That way you can easily return to the directory you were working on before, and save there easily too. _________________ One step at a time |

If it's at all possible, I'd like to save my Photshop files away from the My Pictures folder.
Anyone advise what's the best way to do it? |

BarryH,
See the last couple of paragraphs in the post above your last one.
Basically create a folder somewhere under your current documents and call it Photoshop files.
Then when you come to saving out your files, point it at that newly created directory.
I believe, but don't quote me on this, after that PS will look at the last directory you saved in whenever you come to saving new work. _________________ One step at a time |

Thanks for the help.
I'm just using the normal browser but I would prefer to use Bridge if I could understand how to open it when I'm in PS.
Is this possible/ _________________ Lefties do it upside down |

You can open bridge straight from the windows menu (START > Search > Enter "Adobe Bridge CS4") or when you open PS, use the 'Browse in Bridge' option from the File menu. _________________ One step at a time |
