Greetings,
I just found this great forum.
I am an experienced Photoshop user and often work with Layer Styles.
Today I was attempting to save a particular layer style I created and I clicked save after naming the style and now photoshop is locked up. The strange thing is I can continue to navigate through the Layer Styles dialog box but it will not close and neither will any of the open files close. It is impossible to save a custom layer style preset without it going into this lock up mode.
any ideas?
Thank you for your kind assistance.
Ron

Hi welcome to the forum & how is sunny florida?

i am not sure if you are aware of this, but at the top of the layers palette there are four icons that lock various items including a lock all, have you inadvertently clicked on one of these?

Thanks so much for the idea. I will check that out and report back.

BTW: It's been a little roasty and toasty in FL. Looking forward to some cooler weather coming.

I think he is are saying the program locked up, not the layers palette.

Deleting the prefernces file is known to cure odd PS behavior. It costs nothing to give it a try.
