Hi,
I'm new to photoshop and have a 60K + black & white image library to scan & modify. I was using elements 2 but tried to resolve my problem by trialing elements 7. It didn't work.
I want to take my grayscale images and multiply process them from PSD files to high quality jpegs, but every time I do this photoshop changes the image to RGB.
Does anyone know what the correct configuration is to ensure the images remain grayscale post processing? I know it can be done, as a friend is managing it, but we just can't figure out what we are setting differently.
Any help appreciated.

PS shouldn't change the mode to RGB if they are greyscale. Are you sure your scanner software is set to greyscale? |

Yup. The images definitely come in from the scanner as grayscale. I've double checked & double checked and changed scanner too!
I must have inadvertently modified a setting somewhere, but can I find it? Er No.
Bother. Any other ideas? |

Thanks all the same hawkeye,
Incidentally, I've been to Mesa a few years ago and loved the heat without the humidity. Try Scotland for a change! You might like the rain!

It's still hot here right now, over 100 F. I'll likely get to Scotland eventually as my wife and I travel quite a bit. I have a few other destinations in mind first, though. |
