G'day all,
My son's first birthday is coming up soon and I was thinking to do an invitation flyer to send out to guests.
I have seen in the past how people have put together a flyer size document with various photos etc blended in with invitation details like venue, date etc.
The question is how and where do I start?
Could anyone take time to explain how to begin this little adventure of mine?
many thanks to all.
Nigel. |

How long do you have to work on this and do you have any samples of what you'd like it to look like? _________________ moondog

I got say couple of weeks to do this and yes I have a few photos that i want to blend together. Also text on the side that mentions the venue, date, time etc.......
I really want to do this myself as being the Dad sorta thing so if you could give me a tutorial on it that would be awesome.
Are you on google chat by any chance?

Hi Nigel,
There really is no ONE tutorial. There are so many ways to do so many things that to point you to one single tutorial wouldn't do you any good.
Are you using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements?
This is important as I use Photoshop and while they do similar things, Elements doesn't do all that Photoshop will do. And to do this, you definitely need one them. _________________ moondog

step 1: decide what size flyer ... standard 8.5" x 11" ?
step 2: you have to think about where you want things on this flyer ... images on the top/side/bottom and information elsewhere? (my first thought is 3 or 4 images collaged together on the left hand side with the information on the right hand side.
step 3: pick out the images ... if you're going to use 3 or 4 in the final, you want to have at least 6 to choose from to see what works best.
step 4: figure out the layout of your information and then find a font you like that will enhance the project.
I'm here as much as I can be, just let me know if you need help with ANY part of it or if you need more information than what I just put down.

ok mate.
This is what i want to do....
1) Create a A6 format flyer with black background
2) Create another layer then i want to have smoke brushing on it (already downloaded the brushes).
3) Start inserting my three photos on there again layer upon layer??? If so how to do it bud?
4) Need to blend all three images but stronger than the background smoke brushes.
