I always wanted to get into graphics, and played mostly with MS Paint. I do not have any of my Paint stuff anymore. I tried a ton of cheap programs unitl i finally got photoshop. that was in November 2002, so actually only about 4-5 months when i find the time to play around with it.

BTW Pat, I know it still costs money but here's what alot of people do. Go on eBay, or elsewhere, and find an old copy of PS (4.0, 5.0, etc) and then buy the upgrade for $150. Like I said, it still costs, but it beats the original $500-600 for the full program up front.

Hmm, not sure. Don't really use eBay. Thanks though.

Well, it doesn't have to be eBay, that was just an example. Just look around for an old version of the software for cheap, then upgrade (money allowing). :)

I'm a rebel, all my graphics have been done in Paint Shop Pro :) My first website was probably 1998, a sprawling array of pages regarding Shadowrun that was quite atrocious with nav maps and jumpboxes everywhere. Around 99 I discoved CSS, and was hooked on webpages for life :)

Same Wildfire from phpBB world, that's what pushed it over the edge from a hobby to a business really, still working on getting my graphics skills on par with my backend coding skills, and venturing into more languages and tools. Probably won't have much to contribute here, but intend to read and apply what I can in PSP :)
