Hi,

I'm a graphic artist developing game graphics for mobile devices.
Mostly I saves every photoshop files as png. My problem is that the files saved from a Windows Xp machine shows 24 bpp in other Xp machines, 8 bpp in WIndows 98 and 2000 machines. I tried resaving the picture from my 98 machine. But same is the effect.

Any body please tell how I can solve this problem. Is it because of the platform I am using????

Thankz in advance
Santhosh

Here in our office some others also working for mobile. They are using XP machines. But the developers are saying that the mobiles like 3100. Leapord are getting very slow on loding these images.

Can u suggest anything to make all output images to 8 bpp. I mean some other softwares.

Regards

hi man...why going 4 other s/ws??? u can do it in photoshop itself na....
and try doing in 98....it will work.....
and may be due to some config settings u r getting 32 bit in xp....so just change it....dont ask me ho u can do it....just try urselves....and as a senior graphics designor u have 2 know it!! :)
also if the source image frm which u have created the new image is 32 bit the new img may also be in 32 bit ,,so try starting frm the scratch in 8bit i mean pixel graphics!!!

HI, Thanks for ur reply.

I am working in a game developing company. Here there are six graphic artist. One is having a machine installed with XP and the developers are using WIndows 2000.

The problem is I cant find out why different machines show different bpp for the same picture when looked at it's properties. Also the Irfan view show 8bpp. But the mobile is slowing down.

Regards,
Santhosh
