And to get the fading away effect I usually create mask (there's a button for it, it's in the Layers window, one of those little buttons at the bottom) and play with the Gradient tool, depends where you want him to fade away, if you want the lower body part to fade then start off from there, and not from his head |

if you want him transparent but still visible on ur sig then just select screen in the layers palette. |
