i have, oh, i don't know, like 3000 fonts that i, believe it or not, use. i heard that adobe type manager would reduce the ram usage in photoshop, but the product description of the type manager only vaguely implies this feature, which makes me think that if it really did reduce ram usage in photoshop, they would be shouting it from mountain tops.
Anybody know anything about this?

Fonts are very ram intensive. It's especially rough when you load photoshop because photoshop actually goes through every single font and loads them for usage.

This program allows you to load fonts as you need them, which will probably save a lot of memory. I haven't explored other programs that do the same as this one, nor have I ever even used this program. So, I can't offer to much knowledge accept that link and the fact the fonts are hogs.

Hope that helped Big Grin

I used to have a great number of fonts on my machine but as OYBRO pointed out, chewed up memory like a hungry kid at macdonalds.

Then I used Adobe Type manager and the results were amazing. Could load fonts as I needed them, view them and generaly waste time going through 100's of faces.

Now I have a limited number of fonts perhaps 50-60 and when I want something special, load it and then take it off.

Works much better that way
